Florida Flights

Florida is not one of the largest states in America and it is very easy to get around. There are four main airports that you can fly into from the UK or Europe. Flights to Florida’s Sanford airport are generally operated by the charter airlines. The other three main Florida airports of Tampa, Orlando and Miami are generally operated by the scheduled airlines, which offer a greater range of Florida flights.

Florida is located in the South East corner of the United States and from its most northern point to the tip of the Florida Keys the distance is about four hundred and thirty miles. The widest part is about three hundred and fifty miles apart however the peninsula itself does not stretch much wider than one hundred and fifty five miles across.

The majority of visitors, especially first timers to Florida stay in the Orlando area and visit all the attractions and shops. Others will split their time between the Orlando area and a stay at the beach in what is known as a two centre holiday. If you are staying longer you could tour around or even have a three or multi centre vacation the options are endless.

Another popular option for visitors to Florida is not just to get a Florida flight but a Florida Fly-drive, which is a special deal offering a flight to Florida and car rental at a discounted rate. This enables regular visitors to do as the Americans do and tour around and book accommodation in different locations. If you have been to all the theme parks and need a rest you could drive to the coast and spend a few days on the beach. Once you have re-charged your batteries head back for some more thrills at the theme parks. This makes you holiday more flexible and you can suit yourself when you get there.

During the quieter months it is easier to get cheap flights to Florida before the school holidays generally in May and early June. In the month of October most scheduled airlines switch to the cheaper winter schedule and offer great prices for children. This is great if you are planning on getting a flight to Florida during the October school break. It is better to book these flights as early as possible so you can get the cheapest Florida flights. Unless you are travelling from Manchester or one of the London airports this may involve a change of aircraft.
